R&B singer SZA compliments San Antonio after show and teases mini tour
R &B sensation SZA just played San Antonio's AT&T Center and was absolutely smitten with the city — that's according to the star herself on X (f.k.a. Twitter).
SZA posted, staring with a well-earned expletive and closing with some loving emojis, "this was my first time ever playing San Antonio I DID NOT KNOW YALL GOT DOWN LIKE THISSS.. incredible energy . THANK U."
Fans were likely not surprised that the singer had modest expectations, since San Antonio was originally not even on the list for her 2023 tour dates. She added the show in April as a second leg to the "SOS" Tour.
They also pointed out that this was not the first time SZA had visited the Alamo City. Concert Archives, a collaborative database for fans to record tour dates, set lists, and other concert info shows that SZA's actual first time in San Antonio was at Maverick Music Festival — unless the singer played an earlier show that fans never cataloged.
Performers thank the crowd all the time, but this time was special because SZA was replying to an earlier post that teased another upcoming tour.
In a separate response to herself, SZA listed Tampa, Nashville, St. Louis, Baltimore. and Philadelphia as her "most turnt cities." She also expressed a preference for, Seattle and Atlanta, and added Chicago as an afterthought. These accolades all happened on October 15. On October 16, after her show, she sent out her thank you to San Antonio in the same thread.
Fans who missed the San Antonio stop — or saw the show and want to compare highlights — might enjoy scrolling through the thread, which include some videos of SZA's happy tour experience.
