Six Flags debuts nation's largest DC Universe park area with 3 new rides
The Shazam Tower of Eternity is one of three new rides at the park.
If anyone was getting bored with the current offerings at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, some DC superheroes are swooping in to save park visitors. On March 1, the "largest DC Universe themed area at any amusement park in the United States" will debut, according to a press release.
It's not just heroes who will be featured on these rides, but villains too. Three new rides are joining the fray: Cyborg Cyber Revolution, Shazam! Tower of Eternity, and Metropolis Transit Authority. Other characters like Supergirl, Green Lantern, Batman, The Joker, Poison Ivy, and The Penguin will be referenced around the park.
Finally, there will be a themed dining experience called Planet Krypton, continuing the immersion by serving New York-style pizza amid superhero decor.
"This expansion offers an incredible experience for fans of all ages, where they can step into thrilling new attractions, expanded themed areas, and reimagined classics," said park president Jeffrey Siebert in a press release. "With something for everyone, it's the ultimate place to feel like a DC Super Hero — again and again."
Here's a sneak peek at the new rides:
- Cyborg Cyber Revolution: A spinning ride with four "giant mechanical arms"
- Shazam! Tower of Eternity: A family-friendly drop tower that's 70 feet tall
- Metropolis Transit Authority: A monorail-style train 17 feet above the park that offers aerial views of the DC Universe area
Some of the additional characters listed above have been retrofitted to classic rides already at the park. Rides that got updates include a swings ride (Supergirl Sky Flight) and a kid-friendly "driving" ride that actually operates on a rail (The Penguin: Gotham City Getaway).
A release hails the debut as "one of the biggest events in Six Flags Fiesta Texas history." The changes were first announced in 2023.
General daily tickets to Six Flags Fiesta Texas are $35, and the base season pass is currently $59. Water park-lovers might also consider a combined pass for Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, and other parks.
