FLOOD RELIEF
Shakira promises portion of San Antonio show proceeds to flood relief

Shakira is donating some of her San Antonio show proceeds to Kerr County flood relief.
Shakira is stepping up to aid Kerr County flood relief, dedicating 10 percent of her July 5 Alamodome concert earnings to the Catholic Charities of San Antonio flood fund.
According to her social media updates, Shakira learned of the tragic flooding as she was landing in San Antonio on July 4 for the San Antonio stop of her “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” tour.
“I just landed in San Antonio, devastated to hear the news of the floods, the deaths, and the girls still missing,” Shakira wrote in a Spanish language post. “I can only think of their families and their immense pain.”
The global pop icon went on to dedicate her show to the families of the victims. She announced the donations via X minutes before taking the stage for her rescheduled concert.
“Our hearts and prayers are with those affected by the flood in Central Texas,” she wrote. “We are donating a portion of tonight’s show proceeds to Catholic Charities of San Antonio, who are providing disaster relief to the families impacted.”
Following the devastating reports of the flash flooding, which has now claimed at least 82 victims, Catholic Charities immediately started a fund to deliver bottled water, blankets, hygiene products, and other necessities to those dealing with the aftermath of the disaster.
Shakira was in San Antonio for a redo of a cancelled Alamo City performance. On June 13, the singer postponed the concert, citing faulty infrastructure meant to support the stage and ceiling of her production. She quickly rescheduled the makeup show for July 5, honoring the original tickets.
Via the X post, Shakira encouraged her international fandom to join her in humanitarian aid, writing, “Your help is important and appreciated.”
