K-pop icons Seventeen choose San Antonio as one of only 5 cities on U.S. tour
K-pop group Seventeen is taking its 13 members on tour this fall, and San Antonio is the only Texas city they're stopping in — one of only five U.S. cities in total. They'll play back-to-back shows at the Frost Bank Center on October 31 and November 1.
The Seventeen Right Here World Tour in U.S. kicks off in Rosemont, Illinois, on October 22, moving through Belmont Park, New York, and Oakland and Los Angeles, California, ending on November 9. This short U.S. stint is the band's first U.S. tour since Seventeen World Tour Be the Sun, which stopped in Houston and Fort Worth, but not San Antonio.
Seventeen, which is two years older than America's biggest reference for K-pop, BTS, currently holds the title for the all-time best-selling K-pop album: their 2023 album FML. They also hold the runner-up to that marketing feat with Seventeenth Heaven, released the same year. The two albums surpassed 6 million and 5 million sales, respectively.
They'll release their 12th mini album in October, so fans will have some fresh music by the time the tour rolls around.
In just eight shows, Seventeen's last tour was attended by 380,000 fans in Korea and Japan, which is about 2 percent of the countries' combined population. The current worldwide tour that also encompasses the U.S. dates is expected to expand, but for now it looks like the U.S. leg is sticking to five cities.
General tickets go on sale Thursday, August 15, at 3 pm.at FrostBankCenter.com or via Ticketmaster. Exclusive presale access is available to those who sign up at Frost Bank Center’s All Access Newsletter and select the “Pop” genre.
