San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo wrangles Keith Urban and more for 2027
Keith Urban is part of the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo's 2027 lineup.
When it comes to music, the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo has never been all hat and no cattle. The annual event — returning February 11-28, 2027 — has lassoed in its first four performers, including a Grammy Award-winning hitmaker and an Americana favorite.
Keith Urban, country star and one-time Nicole Kidman beau, is the boldest name on the list. Born in New Zealand in 1967, he made his way through Nashville bars to become one of country’s most decorated voices. From his breakout anthem “Somebody Like You” to the sultry “Blue Ain't Your Color,” he has become an icon on the charts as much as the gossip pages.
Texas six-piece Flatland Cavalry was formed by college roommates Cleto Cordero and Jason Albers, becoming a phenomenon after expanding the lineup in Lubbock. The band’s Red Dirt grit hasn’t earned them a place in the glossier corners of Nashville, but it has earned them an audience of three million monthly streams on Spotify.
Speaking of Red Dirt country, the Turnpike Troubadours practically wrote the playbook. Formed in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, in 2005, the outfit braved personal strife to remerge as one of the genre’s most respected storytellers. If country music is “three chords and the truth,” Evan Felker is its Faulkner.
Rounding out the August drop is country-rock wayfarers BlackHawk. Still known for their heartbreaking debut "Every Once in a While,” the band has continued to perform long after the departure and death of founding member Van Stephenson.
Founded in 1949, the San Antonio Rodeo is one of the largest and most prestigious in Texas, drawing more than 1.5 million visitors annually. With the support of over 7,000 volunteers, the organization has contributed more than $292 million to Texas youth through scholarships, grants, endowments, auctions, a calf scramble program, and show premiums. This year, the event will return to the Frost Bank Center and Freeman Coliseum fairgrounds.
