Hello, New— uhh, San Antonio
Jerry Seinfeld brings new stand-up to San Antonio in 2024
Cue the bassline: One of America's defining comedians is heading to San Antonio. Jerry Seinfeld will visit the Majestic Theatre on February 24, 2024.
Although the observational comedian is most famous for his eponymous sitcom, he will be performing one of his iconic stand-up sets, this time with "his newest material," according to a press release.
Seinfeld, made in collaboration with the equally foundational comedian Larry David, ran for nine seasons and earned countless awards including 10 Emmy wins and 68 nominations; solidified iconic comedic acting careers like that of Julia Louis-Dreyfus; and has inspired other influential sitcoms as well as an ongoing list of increasingly odd parodies.
The Majestic Theatre, and JS Touring, announced today that America’s premier comedian, Jerry Seinfeld, will perform on the Majestic Theatre stage on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, October 13, at 10am.
Seinfeld's big break came on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1981, and like many comedians his best work has always revolved around others in show business, including the more recent (2012-2019) web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
He has also ventured into writing films (Bee Movie) and books (Is This Anything?), and chairs for the Good+ Foundation, which addresses generational poverty and the role of fathers.
Fans can also see Seinfeld's upcoming work in the recently announced film Unfrosted. A recent (2017) Netflix special called Jerry Before Seinfeld also gives fans a closer look at other parts of the comedian's career.
There do not appear to be any other dates in Texas, but the tour schedule on Seinfeld's official tour page does not go beyond 2023, so more announcements may come.
Tickets (starting at $55) go on sale to the general public on October 13, 2023, at 10 am at majesticempire.com.
