GOING BANANAS
Viral sensation Banana Ball swings back into San Antonio's West Side

Zany baseball phenomenon Banana Ball is swinging back into San Antonio's West Side as the Texas Tailgaters take on the Loco Beach Coconuts on June 26-27, 2026, at Nelson Wolff Stadium. The lottery for the coveted tickets is now open through October 31.
The Tailgaters are part of the league that famously includes the Savannah Bananas, a pro baseball team that has become viral for their on-field antics and breakneck game play. Banana Ball also thumbs its nose at traditional baseball rules, enforcing a strict two-hour time limit, banning bunting and walks, and allowing fans to catch foul balls for outs.
Much like the Harlem Globetrotters, the teams are also known for stunts. Players break out into dance routines (the Tailgaters are fond of country-style line dances), throw merch into the crowd, and even roll up to the batter's box on a unicycle. Between innings, fans come out to the field to compete in silly races involving pig suits and inner tubes.
The Tailgaiters versus Coconuts series is the second appearance for Banana Ball at Nelson Wolff Stadium. In September, the Tailgaters battled the Party Animals in two rowdy (and dusty) matchups. Despite their raucous reps, both teams took some time to give back to the community, visiting patients at Christus Children's Hospital.
The 2026 visit to Nelson Wolff Stadium is part of the massive 2026 Banana Ball World Tour. While the Savannah Bananas will only be stopping by Globe Life Field in Arlington on September 25-27, 2026, fans can see the Texas Tailgaters play at Riders Field in Frisco on March 7-8, at Dell Diamond in Round Rock on March 14-15, and at Constellation Field in Sugar Land on August 28-29.
Tickets to the spectacle are sold exclusively through a lottery system at bananaballticketlottery.fansfirsttickets.com. Prices run $35-$125 with meet-and-greets available. League reps warn fans to be wary of third-party sellers, which can jack up prices or even be frauds.
