41st Annual CineFestival
Latinx filmmakers are spotlighted at The Historic Guadalupe Theater. CineFestival, the country's longest-running Latinx film fest, is a four-day event featuring a diverse canon of 42 films, including the Texas premiere of Phoenix, Oregon, starring San Antonio native Jesse Borrego. This year’s theme, Frontera in Focus, showcases 30 films shot in Texas or directed by Texas filmmakers, with 17 of the films directed by San Antonio filmmakers or shot in San Antonio. Texas Light Opera presents Hedwig and the Angry Inch
The iconic story of transgender rock-n-roll singer Hedwig Robinson takes center stage at Woodlawn Pointe. Each performance features pre-show opening acts from local performances troupes and also includes an opportunity to shop unique local artists and vendor goods. A small reception will be held after each show to meet and greet the cast and fellow attendees. Performances through July 14.

Centro Cultural Aztlan presents “Rural Charm/Encanto Rural” opening reception
Artists James Miller and Lenise Perez-Miller present their newest mixed-media exhibition at the Centro Cultural Aztlan. Guests to the opening reception can peruse the new show while enjoying light refreshments and live music by Forged in Fire featuring Sabrina Lopez. Following its opening, "Rural Charm/Encanto Rural" will be on display through July 30.
26th Annual Balcones Heights Jazz Festival
The sounds of jazz music fill the nighttime air at the Wonderland of the Americas Mall. This year’s Balcones Heights Jazz Festival features an all-female lineup for the first time ever. Headlining performers and opening acts include Wednesday Ball, Ragan Whiteside, Kayla Waters, Elizabeth Mis, Lindsey Webster, and many more. Admission is free.
