13th Annual Hill Country Film Festival
Independent films from Texas and beyond hit the silver screen just outside of San Antonio at Hoffman Haus in Fredericksburg this weekend. Blue Star Contemporary presents “The Veterans Book Project” opening reception
Discover the wartime experiences of American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of a profound library of books co-authored by artist Monica Haller. Guests will get a glimpse of the collective experiences and memories that live inside the minds of countless veterans. Stories come to life through mobile phone images, emails, journal entries, and personal effects for a multi-dimensional retelling of first-hand accounts. This exhibition will be on display through September 25. Admission is free.
Jim Messina in concert
Country rock legend and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member Jim Messina performs live for one special evening at Brauntex Performing Arts Theatre. Messina is best known as member of soft rock duo Loggins and Messina and a founding member of both Buffalo Springfield and Poco. A select number of balcony tickets are still available.

World Heritage Office presents Mission Marquee Plaza Farmers & Artisans Market
The monthly Mission Marquee Plaza's Farmers and Artisans Market returns for another installment of open-air community activities. Visitors to the market can participate in free fitness classes, enjoy live music, shop fresh and locally sourced food, and purchase goods from pop-up vendors.
