Salt therapy and float tank center eases into North San Antonio

Krysus uses isolation tanks for full-body relaxation.
A new wellness center, Krysus, will soon bring state-of-the-art military recovery technology to North San Antonio civilians. The business is renovating a former rug store at 2102 N Loop 1604 W for its second location, bringing an array of services designed to aid physical recovery and promote deep relaxation.
Founders Doug and Latina Isaaks are no strangers to demanding physical regimens. They met at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, where they began their military career in the Security Forces. Doug went on to join Pararescue, an elite Air Force squad that provides medical treatment to personnel stranded in hostile and remote environments.
After the couple transitioned out of active duty, they founded a training program geared towards the tactical community. Eventually, they realized the same stressors affect people in a wide variety of fields.

Some of today’s most buzzed-about treatments are offered under the Krysus roof. The business — not quite a spa — offers whole-body red light, salt, float, and sound therapy services, which proponents say decrease pain and contribute to mental well-being.
Float therapy uses a sensory deprivation cabin filled with a high concentration of Epsom salt to help users enter a meditative state and ease sore muscles and joints. Salt therapy uses a device called a halogenerator to break down sodium chloride into minuscule particles, said to help with respiratory conditions and relieve some skin conditions.
Sound therapy and light therapy may seem like science fiction, but they are common in holistic healing practices. Krysus combines binaural beats with affirmations to address deeply ingrained behavior in its audio rooms. Red light therapy, administered in a tanning bed-like machine, is being researched for its effects on aging, cognitive function, and hair regrowth.
According to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation records, the renovation is expected to be completed in February 2026. The original location of Krysus is open from 8 am-10pm, Tuesday to Sunday, at 5522 Lone Star Pkwy #302.
