New doggy day care catering to small pups unleashes at the Pearl
San Antonio’s favorite shopping mecca is going to the dogs. Opening at the Pearl on Wednesday, December 8 — in time for the pup-boarding holiday season — is Good Dog, a new walking, boarding, and day care facility.
Located at 132 W. Grayson St., suite 150, Good Dog is an 1,850-square-foot canine castle featuring two indoor play spaces, two outdoor play spaces, and posh individual indoor kennels perfect for letting sleeping dogs lie.
Owned and operated by Steven and Kaylee Bell, who previously ran a doggy day care facility in Dallas, Good Dog was specifically designed to cater to smaller pups — those weighing 35 pounds or less and shorter than 15 inches — and that means no trampling on the little guys. However, all dogs are welcome to take part in some services.
“We’re really looking forward to being a part of the Pearl neighborhood and being able to serve the dogs and dog owners here,” says Steven Bell. “We have a wonderful space where every decision was made to create a great experience for smaller dogs. We hope the community loves it!”
Good Dog’s boarding services are available at a nightly rate of $42, and include six hours of doggy play. A boarding plus version is also available, for $58 per night, which also includes a few extra pup perks.
Day care and dog-walking services, which are only available for smaller dogs due to space limitations, are membership-based, with day care running $500 per month and walks through the Pearl neighborhood and Museum Reach area of the River Walk (available for all dogs) ranging between $25 and $42, depending on their length and frequency.
And pup parents can add on other services for their four-legged friends, like enrichment playtime and one-on-one cuddle time away from the pack for a small additional fee. Check out the full list of services and membership options here.
“Good Dog is an excellent addition to Pearl’s neighborhood,” says Mesha Millsap, Pearl’s chief operating officer. “Pearl has always been dog-friendly, and we are excited to welcome a great team of professionals to better meet the needs of our community and their dogs.”
Good Dog’s lobby will be open to the public Monday through Friday from 7:30 am-6:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9 am-5 pm.
