Frost It Forward
San Antonio music nonprofit earns a standing ovation for its outreach
As the editor of a women-focused magazine, it seemed obvious that Eleanora Morrison would be drawn to support the Classical Music Institute.
The editor-in-chief and creative director of Eleanora magazine appreciates CMI's dedication to female composers, conductors, and instrumentalists, and how artistic director Paul Montalvo has dubbed its 2018-19 season the "Year of the Woman."
The chair-elect of CMI, Melissa Unsell-Smith, explains that the nonprofit's aim is to cultivate classical music education as a gateway to the arts, giving children all across San Antonio access to quality music education and performance.
To aid CMI in its mission, Morrison presented Montalvo and Unsell-Smith with a $100 Frost Bank cash card, which will sponsor 10 students to attend a CMI performance.
Morrison's gift is part of Frost Bank's latest campaign, Opt For Optimism, which encourages small acts of kindness that lead to a big impact in your community.
To do its part, CultureMap created a Charity Guide and an editorial series that highlights those who are giving back. We're also turning the spotlight on locals who are fostering generosity, building community, and changing perspectives.
