Luxe automaker Tesla plugs into San Antonio with new La Cantera showroom

The world's hottest car company is giving San Antonio a new reason to visit the Shops at La Cantera. Tesla recently opened a new showroom at the tony shopping destination — it's second in Alamo City.
Located near Neiman Marcus, car enthusiasts and curious drivers alike can schedule a test-drive of Tesla hot rods, including the popular new Model 3. Unlike its other San Antonio outpost, the La Cantera Tesla is just a showroom, meaning it doesn't offer servicing like the company's Dominion shop at 23011 Interstate 10 West. Tesla opened its Dominion shop in 2017 after hosting a popular pop-up event at La Cantera in 2015.
The new San Antonio location is one of 11 new stores opening around the U.S. Tesla also announced (via Twitter, of course) a new location in Dallas' popular Galleria as part of the December 10 announcement.
In total, Texas has 13 Tesla showrooms across the state, the majority of which are concentrated in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
According to websites that cover the industry, Tesla is actively expanding its presence in shopping malls with significant foot traffic, a retail strategy also adopted by Apple. State regulations mean Tesla can't sell its cars out of the galleries; any mention of pricing is also prohibited.
Founded in 2003 by Elon Musk, Tesla has revolutionized the electric auto market with its innovative designs and state-of-the-art technology. To schedule a drive demonstration at the La Cantera showroom, pop into the gallery or visit tesla.com.
