Tower of the Americas will pay tribute to the 343 firefighters, 70 law enforcement officers and nine emergency response personnel who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Local-area firefighters, law enforcement officials, military personnel and civilians will climb the 952 steps of the Tower of the Americas to recognize each fallen hero.
Participants will climb the Tower twice to reach and actually exceed the 110 floors of the World Trade Center and will also carry a tag that honors each firefighter, law enforcement officer and EMS personnel who lost their life on this tragic day in American history. This memorial climb will conclude with the ringing of a bell recognizing the collapse of the North Tower.
