The Ecumenical Center will present their annual Legacy of Hope luncheon. The event's keynote speaker will be Emmy-award-winning ESPN reporter Lauren Sisler, who will share her powerful story of how she prevailed over the adversities of loss, shame and fear.
During her first year at Rutgers University, Sisler lost both of her parents within hours of each other to a concealed opioid addiction. She has since dedicated her life to helping others who have suffered in the face of addiction, inspiring them to overcome its gravity and stigma to lead lives of extraordinary fulfillment. Her new book, Shatterproof, serves as a guide for how people can "break down the barriers that stand in the way of living their best lives."
The event directly supports The Center’s mission of providing counseling, education, and other services of care, expanding its reach as a force for hope and healing in communities across the region.
