Donald McCullough's Holocaust Cantata is a poignant musical presentation for chamber choir, piano, and solo cello offered in honor of Yom HaShoah, or International Holocaust Remembrance Day, in commemoration of the approximately six million Jews killed in the Holocaust.
Using translations of original Polish materials found in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC, this work alternates between music and readings as it takes us on an emotional journey through one of the bleakest periods in our history.
The concert will features conductor Dr. Jennifer Seighman, pianist Geoffrey Waite, and cellist Basel Sarweh. The event is presented in partnership with the Holocaust Memorial Museum of San Antonio.
