The San Antonio Parks Foundation is proud to announce the launch of ticket sales for Art in the Parks, featuring renowned San Antonio artist Alberto Mijangos.
Presented during the centennial celebration of the Jingu House, Art in the Parks also follows the recent restoration and reopening of the site’s Historic Mexican Village, a landmark that represents an important chapter in San Antonio’s multicultural history. Originally constructed in the 1930s as part of a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project, the village celebrates traditional Mexican architecture and craftsmanship and remains one of the city’s most distinctive historic features within the garden.
The day begins with a free public celebration from 10 am to 5 pm where visitors can experience an artisan market alongside a public exhibition of original works by Mijangos. Guests will have the rare opportunity to view paintings and sculptures spanning decades of Mijangos’ career while enjoying one of Texas’ most treasured public gardens.
Later in the evening at 6 pm, there will be an exclusive fundraising experience benefiting the San Antonio Parks Foundation. VIP guests will enjoy an intimate evening featuring a private guided tour of the Alberto Mijangos exhibition throughout the Japanese Tea Garden, a thoughtfully curated three-course Oaxacan-inspired dinner, and an expert beverage pairings with each course.
