San Antonio Museum of Art will present a new orchestral suite, "Black Neon Rose," by composer Nathan Felix, featuring newly written music for four harpsichords, strings, and a choir. The music draws inspiration from SAMA’s exhibition "America’s Impressionism: Echoes of a Revolution."
Local harpsichord builder Gerald Self will introduce the performance with a brief discussion on the history of harpsichords and give insight into his building process. The musicians will be placed in a formation that best activates the acoustics and spatial qualities of the Great Hall. This performance will be limited to 50 people.
