The inaugural SAFILM - San Antonio Children’s Film Festival will offer an eclectic and diverse lineup of films filled with entertainment for event-goers ages three and older.

Schedule of events:

  • Wednesday, July 27 - “Loot Bag Junior,” a collection of animated short films highlighting creative problem solving and individuality, while also placing a strong emphasis on laughter, music, exploration, and imagination. Recommended for ages 7 and up.
  • Thursday, July 28 - “Best of the Fest 1” will screen a compilation of short films, including One, Two, Tree, Memories of the Sea, That is Not a Good Idea, and The Girl Who Spoke Cat. The films that make up “Best of the Fest 1” come from diverse backgrounds, with origins ranging from France, Germany, and Brazil. The “Best of Fest 1” is recommended for ages 3-7. The entry fee is $10 for this series. Additionally on Thursday, the festival is showing free screenings from 11:30 am -1 pm geared toward high school ages and older. The film features the Student & KSAT Community Anti-Bullying PSA contest, where high schools within the area submitted videos to create the film.
  • Friday, July 29 - “Best of Fest 2,” incorporating a wide array of movies including the Italian action film Two Left Feet, My Grandfather Was A Cherry Tree, and the Japanese animation The Man, The Boy, and The Donkey. This film series is recommended for ages 8 and over.
  • Saturday, July 30 - “Loot Bag Junior” will screen once more.
