The Heart of Texas Concert Band's Children’s Concert is not just for children, but also for the young at heart, and has become an audience favorite. Featured will be a performance of Jean de Brunhoff’s classic children’s book Babar the Little Elephant, set to music by French composer Francis Poulenc. Other pieces include Aaron Copland's I Bought Me a Cat featuring vocal soloist Ezra A. Johnson; Henry Fillmore's Circus Bee; R. B. Hayward's The Band That Jack Built; Daugherty's Alligator Alley; and Aaron Copland's The Boatman’s Dance.
