Harmonium of Texas presents A Special Evening with Yo-Yo Ma & Jeffrey Kahane, bringing together the legendary cellist Yo-Yo Ma and the Harmonium of Texas Artistic Director for one of the marquee events of the orchestra’s inaugural 2026-2027 season.
The evening will showcase the 40-year musical partnership between Ma and Kahane through a program spanning intimate chamber music, contemporary repertoire, and one of the most celebrated works in the cello repertoire.
Ma and Kahane will open the program together with Sergei Rachmaninoff’s "Sonata for Cello" and "Piano in G minor, Op. 19." The program will also feature the Texas Premiere of Herencia by Spanish-born cellist and composer Andrea Casarrubios and Antonín Dvořák’s "Cello Concerto in B minor, Op. 104."
