Las Comadres de Morales St., written by San Antonio playwright, poet, and actor Irene Chavez, is set in San Antonio’s Westside and follows a tight-knit group of neighbors whose lives are intertwined by friendship, family, and the everyday fight to hold on to their community. With humor, heart, and honesty, the story tackles Covid, gentrification, and years of disinvestment, while centering on the strength of elders, comadres, and familia.
