Sound artist, composer, and audio engineer Nadia Botello will create a new site-specific installation from her ongoing series, Bodies of Water. In this series, translucent tank sculptures require listeners to physically initiate contact with the works. Upon contact, the compositions contained within the water, created from field recordings and choral compositions written by Botello, are made audible to the listeners. By inviting the viewer to interact with the artwork, Botello creates the opportunity for viewers to consider their own bodies. Botello’s compositions draw from recordings of the San Antonio River.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through October 5.
