Camerata San Antonio continues its 2020-2021 season online with Treasure, featuring Camerata's String Quartet performing two works composed by artists deeply influenced by traditional and folk music.

Romantic Norwegian Edvard Grieg, best known for In the Hall of the Mountain King, uses folk tunes and styles in his quartet. Florence Price, the first female African-American composer to have her work performed by a major U.S. orchestra (the Chicago Symphony), incorporates melodic material reminiscent of spirituals and the African-American church into her quartet. It reminds the listener of Dvorak and his use of spirituals (the New World Symphony), but in her own unique and engaging voice.
