Briscoe Western Art Museum will present the opening of "Southwest Rising: Contemporary Art and the Legacy of Elaine Horwitch." Showcasing the Southwest’s influence on Western art, the exhibition celebrates one of the most powerful and influential art dealers in the Southwest.
Horwitch was responsible for launching the careers of hundreds of artists from the region and the nation and was a leader in fostering what has been called "new Western art” or “Southwest pop."
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on view through September 4.
