The Boerne Book & Arts Fest celebrates all things literary and arts, including live performances, author discussion panels, childrens’ activities and more. Author panels include topics ranging from the “big, wonderful” state to Western film, the magic of childrens’ books and a discussion with Southwest pilot Tammie Jo Shults, whose soon to be published memoir reveals how her faith guided her during the harrowing Southwest Flight 1380 plane landing in 2018.
Another feature of this year’s event includes performances from the Terpsichore Dance Company, a one-man show about Edgar Allen Poe and a sure to get zany “Mad-Libs” recreation of romance novel narratives. A pre-festival early morning “coffeehouse poetry” event serves as the official launch of the library’s first poetry/prose anthology that focuses on Kendall County history.
