The 2017 Rooftop Jazz Season Announcement Party will feature a performance by the Doc Watkins Trio, beer provided by Alamo Beer, and cocktails provided by Austin Cocktails. Locally based pianist, organist and band leader Doc Watkins now heads up his own music venue, Jazz, TX, which focuses on jazz, blues, big band, Texas swing, salsa, conjunto and Americana.

The concert series brings together members of Artpace and KRTU for several summer nights to celebrate contemporary art and jazz. Guests are invited to mingle while enjoying an evening of jazz, drinks and small bites. Each concert will focus on a particular jazz theme celebrating historical figures and styles performed by local and regional musicians. A digital projectionist will provide a visual element featuring relevant jazz imagery during the second, third and fourth concerts.
