Art Talks brings together the most innovative artists and curators from around the world with San Antonio audiences to provided an intimate space for open conversation about the creative process and contemporary art.
The latest Art Talks will feature Yoshua Okón, an artist, curator, and co-founder of La Panadería, a contemporary art space and residency housed in a defunct bakery in Colonia Condesa. La Panadería operated from 1994-2002 and became a reference point for the creative community of Mexico City due to its alternative vocation. Okón also co-founded the non-accredited, independent art school, SOMA in 2009. Okón received an MFA from UCLA in 2002 with a Fulbright scholarship. His work is included in the collections of Tate Modern, Hammer Museum, LACMA, Colección Jumex and MUAC, among others. Okón will select Artpace’s Summer 2017 International Artists-in-Residence.
