Brand-new San Antonio music festival reveals full lineup for 2016
San Antonio's newest festival already teased us with a few headliners, but now the cat is out of the bag.
On Wednesday, Mala Luna Music Festival released the full lineup for the inaugural celebration taking over Lone Star Brewery on October 29-30.
The two-day festival will feature some of the buzziest names in EDM and hip-hop, including just-announced Kevin Gates, Tory Lanez, Rae Sremmurd, and Kehlani. These rising stars will join headliners Kaskade, Travis Scott, G-Eazy, and Steve Aoki, as well as the slew of national artists announced last week: Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, Jacquees, G Herbo, Sango, Lunice, Kranium, and Sammy.
"Launching an event like Mala Luna in a special place like San Antonio is something we're very proud of. Our other properties, including JMBLYA and Neon Desert, have developed a unique sense of pride amongst our attendees," says Sascha Stone Guttfreund, founder of Austin-based ScoreMore Shows, which is producing the fest.
"We're here to do what we do best, and thus far it feels like the people are really appreciative of our effort, which is all we could ever ask for."
In addition to San Antonio performers — IVY, VI$ION, Greg G, Mitch James, KWYK, and Phillip Wolf — the festival will feature Chloe Delgado and Chase Sauer from the Network for Young Artists, a nonprofit that provides kids with affordable music lessons. A portion of ticket proceeds will benefit NYA.
"We are really excited to have two of their very talented students perform at the festival in front of their hometown crowd, which will make for some truly unforgettable moments for these students, their friends, and their families," says Guttfreund.
Tickets for Mala Luna are on sale now; two-day passes cost $119, and VIP passes are $159. Prices will increase as the festival approaches.
