San Antonio resort debuts luxury villas with Hill Country charm
With the summer travel season now in full swing, the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in northwest San Antonio is expanding its offerings. The high-end property has introduced five new private villas, providing guests with a fresh option for a more secluded and amenity-rich experience.
Named after iconic Texas rivers — Guadalupe, Nueces, Brazos, San Saba, and Pecos — the villas are designed to have all the comforts of home. The 2,336-square-foot ranch-style buildings, ideal for family get-togethers or group getaways, include a roomy open-plan living and dining space, a fully-equipped kitchen, and two patios with barbecue grills, firepits, and seating.
The luxury suites also boast four private bedrooms: two outfitted with king beds and two with double queens. Each room includes its own bathroom with a soaking tub and walk-in shower, a mini refrigerator, a Nespresso machine, and an enclosed outdoor patio with rocking chairs to check out the pastoral views. Or whittle. You do you.
It may read like an Airbnb on paper, but the villas up the ante by including a suite of services that are not offered by most vacation rentals. Housekeeping will stop by twice daily, and each house is assigned a dedicated host. Guests also get access to Wildflower Spa to enjoy an outdoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, and steam rooms.
“The addition of our new villas brings an enhanced level of luxury and flexibility to the resort,” said Steven J. Smith, general manager at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort, in a release. “These accommodations were thoughtfully designed to feel like a home away from home, with spacious accommodations surrounded by beautiful Hill Country scenery and exclusive amenities that make every stay truly memorable.”
The resort, at 9800 Hyatt Resort Dr., isn’t done gussying up its grounds, located at the former site of Texas’ historic Rogers-Wiseman family ranch. In April, the hotel announced it was building a sparkling lagoon with white-sand beaches, cabanas, and plenty of splashy activities. The addition is set to make waves in early 2026.
