San Antonio DJ teases sleek new bar and dance club on St. Mary's Strip
A moody new bar and dance club is debuting soon in San Antonio. According to a post by Edward Silva, a.k.a. Lzrcat, Wav Room will be complete soon at 3000 N St. Mary’s St., the former home of the occult-inspired bar El Ojo.
"This project is especially meaningful, not just as an extension of @_house.arrest, but because of the love, thought, and passion poured into every detail," Silva wrote, referring to his musical collective and live series as of January 2023. "From designing the vinyl room (I’m no architect, but I gave it my all) to crafting a unique bar atmosphere, watching my silly drawings come to life was super cool to see."

Silva is working with John Michael Villanueva, Sophie Covo Gonzales, and Chad Carey of Empty Stomach Hospitality, who have worked together on other local projects like Paper Tiger, Midnight Swim, and High Horse.
A post on the House Arrest account promises new parties showcasing techno, hard groove, Jersey and Southern club music, and more in between.
Aesthetically, this bar is minimalist without veering into starkness. Photo shared by the various project members include a disco ball, sleek wood paneling, leather couches, and an overall Japanese look that calls to mind Tokyo's extremely trendy hi-fi listening rooms, which are making their way across big cities in the United States.
More than 100 people have commented on the December 12 post at the time of this article's publication, including one person who really activates the cleverness of the dance series: "Hm, might actually leave my house for this."
