OPENING ALERT
Pinthouse Pizza finally untaps first San Antonio brewpub
Pop open a cold one. Austin-based Pinthouse Pizza officially opened the doors to its first San Antonio brewpub and restaurant on Monday, March 23, bringing its tavern-style pies and award-winning IPAs to 5534 N. Loop 1604 W. on the Northwest Side.
The splashy 8,501-square-feet location features a beer hall and a sunny, skylit atrium, along with a free-to-play gaming zone and working brewery. Tables are scattered throughout, from comfy booths to drink rails for standing groups. Three bars help keep the lines in check.
Founded in 2012, Pinthouse has since expanded to four locations around the Capital City. As of 2025, it became the nation's largest brewpub by barrelage, last year producing an astounding 23,000 barrels of favorites like its acclaimed Electric Jellyfish hazy IPA and its West Coast-style Scorpion Disco.
In addition to its award-winning beers, Pinthouse is also known for its pies. Standards like pepperoni and basil join specialty pizzas like the Ooh La La with peppadew peppers and seasonal specials like the current Sgt. Peppers with calabrese, stracciatella, and fresh mozzarella pearls.

Since Pinthouse is a brewpub, it also dishes out plenty of salty snacks to pair with the beer. Shareables include cheesy garlic bread, Bavarian-style pretzels, braised meatballs, queso, and fan-favorite pizza rolls stuffed with pepperoni.
Although its digs are new, Pinthouse has been pouring in San Antonio for a few years. Local distributor Silver Eagle Ventures began distributing its beers in January 2021, and now the brews are widely available in area bars.
The Northwest Side brewpub is now open 11 am-10 pm, Sunday through Thursday and Friday and Saturday, 11 am-11 pm. Pinthouse also has a weekday happy hour, 3-6 pm.
