BOOK SMART
San Antonio barbecue stars Curry Boys to drop first cookbook in 2026

The team behind Curry Boys BBQ are releasing their first cookbook in 2026.
A new cookbook will soon bring flavors from San Antonio's buzziest barbecue team into home kitchens. Curry Boys BBQ's Andrew Ho, Andrew Samia, and Sean Wen will release their first recipe collection, Asian Smoke, on March 24, 2026.
The restaurant teased the new hardcover via an Instagram post showing the chef trio unwrapping the first proofs.
"Okay, so this is freakin' happening (somehow), and we can't believe we get a chance to share our world of all things BBQ and Asian food with you," the team wrote in excited caps. "LMAO, talk about imposter syndrome — sheesh. Not sure why or how this happened, but we are beyond grateful and humbled!"
The cookbook — designed in the restaurant's signature red and hot pink color scheme — will feature recipes found in the restaurants, plus a few exclusives for home cooks. Although it mostly revolves around smoked entrees, it also includes condiments, appetizers, fresh salads, and playful desserts like mango sticky rice cereal treats.

"Ho, Samia, and Wen use traditional Texas-style barbecue and smoking techniques, and even traditional cuts like brisket and ribs, but they infuse everything with the deeply soulful aromas and flavors of Thai cooking (mostly), and of other Southeast Asian and pan-Asian cuisines (to a lesser extent)," explains the press blurb. "The flat-out delectable results draw long lines of fans and spectacular reviews on Yelp and in the food media."
Some of the recipes fans can expect include:
- Thai-style BBQ shrimp with Panang curry butter on toasted baguette
- Grilled Thai sriracha Buffalo wings
- Thai street–style smoked and grilled chicken satay skewers with peanut sauce
- Smoked brisket and Thai green curry with roasted cauliflower
- Smoked lamb shank and Thai Massaman curry with roasted carrots and potatoes
- Smoked pork belly bánh mì
- Thai-inspired green curry smoked mushrooms
- Honey sriracha pulled pork sandwich with pickled green papaya and Panang mayo
- Nam jim jaew party ribs
- Smoked coconut cheesecake
Unfortunately, Asian Smoke won't be available in time for holiday gifting, but preorders can be made through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop.org, and Indigo with pricing ranging from $27.96 to $39.99.
