Children who were excited to meet Santa Claus also got a lesson in giving when they visited both 101 Lajitas, and neighboring 105 Lajitas, on December 5. The modern farmhouse was the setting for Portraits with Santa, a fun and festive event from Strait Luxury that also benefited an important charity.
Kuper Sotheby's International Realty agent Tamara Strait hosted the gathering, which drew generously minded families who were eager to check out the for-sale properties while visiting with the Big Man in Red.
Donations were collected for Blessings in a Backpack, a nonprofit which provides food for elementary schoolchildren in Boerne and across America who might otherwise go hungry on the weekends. The organization currently feeds over 93,000 children in nearly 1,100 schools, in 45 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.
Anyone who brought a non-perishable item to help fill the backpacks was entered to win a door prize from Kiss the Cook, which outfitted the two kitchens for the event. Noonday Jewelry, which provides jobs to artisans across the globe, was also on hand to show off its sparkly gift ideas.
And to keep kids of all ages busy, a decorate-your-own-cookie station was set up and filled with tempting toppings.
The home at 101 Lajitas was built in 2017 by Mike Hollaway Custom Homes with entertaining in mind. An open concept layout of more than 3,500 square feet features clean lines and luxurious amenities, including a kitchen outfitted with stainless steel appliances and a Sub-Zero refrigerator. The four-bedroom home, which is located in the Esperanza community in Boerne, is currently listed for $1,130,700.
