Things are hot, hot, hot in San Antonio. In fact, Alamo City boasts one of the hottest ZIP codes in America.
Realtor.com revealed the top 10 ZIP codes in the country, based on an analysis by the website's data experts. These areas are affordable, have healthy local economies, and offer a wealth of job opportunities. Additionally, homes in these 'hoods sell four to nine times faster than the national average.
San Antonio ZIP code 78247 ranks No. 6 on the list. The area is located in the San Antonio city limits, but offers residents a suburban feel.
San Antonio gets props for its host of corporate headquarters, including USAA, Valero, Rackspace, NuStar Energy, and Harland Clarke. "Nicknamed 'Military City USA,' San Antonio has a large military presence with about 100,000 people employed by the armed forces," writes Realtor.com. "The population has grown 7 percent in the past five years, twice as fast as the rest of the country, and the share of households earning $100,000 or more is expected to grow 15 percent by 2020."
Two other Texas locales sizzle on Realtor.com's list. At No. 4 is 75023 in Plano, where 36 percent of households earn $100,000 or more. At No. 8 is 78729 in Austin, which boasts proximity to leading companies like Apple, Dell, and IBM.
The hottest ZIP code in the country is 02176 in Melrose, Massachusetts, an affordable oasis near Boston and Cambridge.
