One of downtown San Antonio’s most historic corners. The Continental Residences, an upcoming 16-story apartment community perched above the restored Continental Hotel and Arana Building at 110 South Laredo St, will bring hundreds of new apartments to the city core.

Developed by Weston Urban in partnership with the Bexar County Public Facility Corp., the project will bring 290 mixed-income apartments. According to a news release, half of the residences are set aside for tenants earning below 80 percent of the area’s median income, helping expand affordable housing options downtown.

Future residents can opt for studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom townhomes. Each sports flexible layouts and high-end finishes, with many also including balconies with downtown views. The building will also offer residents access to a rooftop lounge, state-of-the-art fitness center, coworking spaces, and pet-friendly areas.

“The Continental Residences is designed for the people who make downtown vibrant: professionals, creatives, university students, and anyone who wants to be at the center of an exciting, emerging neighborhood,” said General Manager Sunny Davila, via a release. “By honoring the historic character of the site and adding modern residences and amenities, we’ve created a community that truly reflects the energy and potential of downtown San Antonio.”

Downtown's Continental Residences will have swanky amenities like a rooftop pool.

The Continental Residences continue Weston Urban’s larger restoration efforts on Continental Block. The 1.9-acre site preserves three significant landmarks: the 1896 Continental Hotel, the 1926 Arana Building, and the 18th-century De La Garza House, one of Alamo City’s oldest structures.

The redevelopment will also add 22,000 square feet of retail and office space. Extended stay hotel company Placemakr, who also operate the Maverick Hotel, is already renting apartment-style hotel rooms on the ground floors of the Continental.

The new apartment units will be located in one of San Antonio’s most vibrant hubs near the San Pedro Creek Culture Park, the UTSA Downtown Campus expansion, and several restaurants. Preleasing is open now with move-ins slated to begin in early 2026.
