Realtor Profile
A business background builds trust for this San Antonio broker's clients
As a full-time broker associate since 2011, Kuper Sotheby's International Realty's Tetyana (Tanya) Smith understands that buying and selling a home is one of the biggest decisions in a person's life.
That's why she strives to make each transaction as seamless and successful as possible. Before she began her career in real estate, Smith worked in the corporate world and earned a masters in business administration. She uses that expertise and experience to guide her clients through the sometimes daunting process of buying and selling, and is continually advancing her education and market knowledge by attending seminars, taking continuing education and designation courses, and staying active in several real estate associations.
Honesty and integrity are two characteristics that have helped Smith build a business of repeat clients and referrals, and she views the opportunity to help people achieve her dreams as a true honor.
We chatted with Smith to find out more about her work and what drives her.
CultureMap: What inspires you to do what you do?
Tetyana Smith: I have a passion for the real estate industry, and I also love helping people. My No. 1 goal is to serve all my clients well and fulfill their needs with complete dedication, whether they are looking to purchase or to sell.
CM: What's one piece of advice you'd give to people looking for their dream home?
TS: I think that the stress of finding a home in a unique and complex market can be overpowering. Nevertheless, the right agent could support and educate clients and therefore bring about a satisfying, rewarding experience. I also believe in providing total transparency so a client always feel comfortable, confident, and proactive in making decisions.
CM: And advice to those who are selling?
TS: Please remember that selling your home is a business partnership between you and an agent. I always try to maximize your profit. I work every day to raise the bar as to what you should expect from a Realtor.
CM: What do you consider your "special skill"?
TS: I don't take no for an answer — that's what makes me successful as a win/win negotiator.
CM: Finish the sentence: "It's a good day when..."
TS: My best friend once sent me a card with a fantastic statement: "Today is a good day to have a great day. To smile more, worry less. To be the very best version of you, to do more of what makes you happy, every day. To be positive and regret nothing, to be humble and work hard. Every day laugh, love, live, follow your dreams, believe in yourself, and remember to be awesome."
