World-renowned cutlery brand slices into San Marcos with first Texas store
The outlet mall in San Marcos is staying on the cutting edge with the newest store addition to its massive shopping mecca.
Kitchen-accessories giant Zwilling J.A. Henckels, the centuries-old Germany-based manufacturer of premium kitchen knives, cookware, flatware, and other cutlery, will open its first store in Texas this fall at San Marcos Premium Outlets.
The new Henckels outlet will be located between the Oakley store and the Brahmin outlet at the center of the mall property.
Also opening this fall at San Marcos Premium Outlets for the first time in Texas: outdoor gear retailer Orvis, a 165-year-old Vermont-based brand that specializes in fly-fishing equipment, rugged outdoor clothing, home furnishings and gifts, and dog products.
Orvis will be located next to the Abercrombie & Fitch outlet near Pottery Barn, on the east side of the outlet mall.
Premium Outlets did not provide specific opening dates other than fall 2021, but rest assured the new stores will be open for business in plenty of time for holiday-shopping season, which many experts say will start earlier than usual this year, thanks in part to pandemic-related supply chain issues pushing consumers to get what they can when they can.
Though the holiday-shopping mad dash is likely to play out in its usual frenzied fashion — with the added pandemic pressures — Premium Outlets is still promising shoppers a deluxe experience.
“San Marcos Premium Outlets offers Texas shoppers more than 145 luxury and name-brand retailers,” a release about the new stores says, “and these first-to-market brands will further provide visitors with an unrivaled shopping experience.”
