CANCELED: Frost Bank Center presents Barry Manilow in concert
[Update August 15: Barry Manilow's tour has been rescheduled for August 30 because the singer has COVID-19. We'll keep this entry here, anyway, so fans can plan ahead.] Legendary crooner Barry Manilow performs live at Frost Bank Center. The voice of hit songs such as “Mandy” and “Copacabana (At the Copa)” has released 31 studio albums in his career, including Night Songs II most recently. Select tickets are available.
Majestic Theatre presents Penn & Teller
Veteran entertainers Penn & Teller bring their illusionary and comedic talents to Charline McCombs Empire Theatre. Currently, the duo are the hosts of the magic competition series Penn & Teller: Fool Us! on The CW Network. Seating options are available.
Mission Marquee Plaza presents Outdoor Family Film Series
Settle in for a screening of a family-friendly movie under the night sky at Mission Marquee Plaza. This week’s featured series films are Pretty in Pink and Wonka. Powerhouse rock bands Def Leppard and Journey take the stage at The Alamodome as part of their co-headlining tour. Fans can enjoy an evening of both group’s greatest hits, including songs from Def Leppard’s recent album, Diamond Star Halo, and Journey’s recent album, Freedom. Briscoe Western Art Museum presents Summer Film Series: Killers of the Flower Moon
The Summer Film Series continues at Briscoe Western Art Museum. Guests will watch a screening of the 2023 film Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese. Attendees who bring three books to be donated to the San Antonio Independent School District Foundation’s Book Buddies program will receive a free copy of the book that inspired the film.
