Carlos Santana delays San Antonio show due to sudden health scare

Santana's rep says he looks forward to rescheduling the San Antonio performance.
Carlos Santana abruptly canceled his planned concert at the Majestic Theatre on April 22 after a medical scare. The legendary rocker was taken to a San Antonio medical facility for evaluation.
The venue announced the postponement in an Instagram update, saying the show would be rescheduled as soon as possible. According to the "Oye Como Va" singer's management, he is in good condition.
"It is with profound disappointment that I have to inform you all that tonight's show in San Antonio has been postponed," said manager Michael Vrionis in a statement posted on Majestic's account. "Mr. Santana was at the venue preparing for tonight's show when he experienced an event that was determined to be dehydration. Out of an abundance of caution and the health of Mr. Santana, the decision to postpone the show was the most prudent course of action."
The 77-year-old musician was in town to promote his latest album, Sentient. The retrospective collection includes collaborations with icons like Michael Jackson, Miles Davis, Smokey Robinson, and Darryl "DMC" McDaniels.
Health issues have plagued the guitarist in the past several years. According to Entertainment Weekly, he rescheduled several sets at House of Blues Los Angeles in 2021 due to an unexpected heart procedure. In 2022, he delayed six shows after collapsing onstage in Clarkson, Michigan.
In January, he postponed a residency at the Las Vegas House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino due to an accidental fall in his Hawaiian home. The injury prevented him from playing guitar for six weeks.
Although a new date for the Santana show has not been scheduled, Majestic Theatre reps advise fans to hold on to their tickets.
