He Bids, He Scores
Brad Pitt pays $40K to score one-on-one time with San Antonio Spurs
It appears that Hollywood stars, like us, just can't get enough of the Spurs. At a fundraiser on January 6, Brad Pitt bid $40,000 on an "exclusive experience" with the 2014 NBA Champions.
Included in the package is the opportunity to travel with the Spurs on the team plane, as well as VIP seats to the team's practice and two games in San Antonio. No word yet on which games Pitt will attend. (Perhaps it will be after Kawhi Leonard recovers from his heartbreaking shoulder tear during Sunday's Spurs-Trailblazers' game in Portland.)
The exclusive experience was only one of the hot ticket items up for bid at the charity gala. Hosted by Sean Penn, proceeds from the star-studded evening went to the J/P Haitian Relief Organization, which is a coalition of disaster relief organizations.
In addition to Pitt's big Spurs win, other Hollywood hotties bid on such items as a Game of Thrones watch party with Emilia Clarke, which went for $160,000, and two original pieces by artist Josh Smith, which were snatched up by Clarke and Leonardo DiCaprio.
When Pitt does decide to cash in on his experience, San Antonians have already created a list of must-see items for the Oscar winner. Among the suggestions? The Witte Museum, Mi Tierra and Market Square, and, of course, Whataburger.
