SOLI opens its 24th season with composer Sebastian Currier’s fast-paced and intricate Verge, Daniel Schnyder’s jazz-inspired A Friday Night in August, and George Tsontakis’ Eclipse, a highly dramatic and lyrical multi-movement work, perfectly displaying the composer’s eclectic style, which incorporates the currents of early modernism, post-romanticism, impressionism, and expressionism to create a language of his own.
The October 2 performance will be at Jazz TX, while the October 3 performance will be at Ruth Taylor Recital Hall on the Trinity University campus.
