The San Antonio Botanical Garden’s Art in the Garden program features a new exhibit, "The Art of Being," by Rodrigo Garagarza (Mexico). This exhibit is in collaboration with Gomez Vazquez International and Art Legacy TX and is made possible in part by a grant from the Russell Hill Rogers Fund for Arts.
"The Art of Being" features five metal sculptures from Garagarza’s series, La Matatena (Jacks), inspired by the traditional children’s game. Garagarza’s botanical inspiration and his passion for sculpture and architecture merge with his mastery of geometry. These vibrant, whimsical, and larger-than-life sculptures will be on view throughout the Garden through August 12. The exhibition is curated by Adriana Cisneros of Art Legacy TX.
The artist will be present at the exhibition opening with special guests, Cosul General of Mexico, Reyna Torres Mendivil and Alvaro Gonzalez Guerra Gomez, Principal of Gomez Vazquez International architecture firm.
