During the month of August, San Antonio will celebrate Xicanx Month with exhibitions, programs, workshops, and performances throughout the city. For Ruby City’s part in this celebration, the artists depicted in Celia Álvarez Muñoz’s exhibition "Semejantes Personajes/Significant Personages" will discuss their experiences being photographed by Muñoz and the shifting cultural landscape. This panel will be moderated by Mia Lopez, McNay Art Museum Curator of Latinx Art.
Artists will include Ethel Shipton, Jesse Amado, Terry Ybañez, Ana de Portela, Jim Mendiola, and Cruz Ortiz.
