"Deflected Sparks" is a series of paintings that explore Julie Shipp's continuing interest in capturing the uncapturable visual anomalies of light and color, and revealing the conflicting forces of nature.
Shipp is the Director of The Arts Gallery and a Professor of Art at Collin College, and maintains a studio practice mainly focused on painting. Abstraction with spatial illusionism in color “light fields” has become her primary interest for several years.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through October 20.
