Hector Garza has been a flourishing independent artist and a dedicated fine arts instructor based in San Antonio for the last 12 years. His art celebrates his cultural identity as a Mexican-American while also re-imagining the intersection of Mexican traditions and contemporary American pop culture. His work examines themes of identity, culture, and folklore of the Southwest. He works primarily in oils, acrylic, and mixed media. While most of the themes his works relate to Latino culture, the ideas he examines are truly universal that anyone can relate to.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through August 17.
