Presa House will present "Dessert with Rolando Briseño: A Retrospective Annex Exhibition," which celebrates the prolific career of internationally renowned artist Rolando Briseño and complements "Dining with Rolando Briseño: A 50-Year Retrospective," currently on view at Centro de Artes.
Food serves as the unifying theme of the two exhibitions, explored literally - through depictions of tablescapes and dining habits - and metaphorically, addressing cultural fusion, ritual, and the universe’s structure. "Dessert with Rolando Briseño" offers an intimate annex to this more expansive exhibition.
Featuring over 20 works, including pieces debuting in San Antonio for the first time, the show focuses on Briseño’s deep exploration of cultural identity, history, and the transformative power of food as both sustenance and symbol.
The exhibition will remain on view by appointment through January 22, 2025.
