This includes playing in schools or community groups, attending/participating in masterclasses, or speaking with students on why they chose piano.
The Colburn-Pledge Music Scholarship provides tuition aid to Texas string players who are preparing for careers in classical music. Started in 1985 by former San Antonio Symphony members John Pledge and Lois Colburn, the program has to date given 133 scholarships totaling more than $99,000 to 72 different students. As of 2021, the scholarship now resides under the management of Musical Bridges Around the World.
