Mind Science Foundation presents Disorder or Genius?, featuring psychiatrists Gail Saltz, M.D. and Richard Kogan, M.D. Dr. Saltz will appear at noon, while Dr. Kogan will appear at 6:30 pm.

Dr. Saltz authored The Power of Different: The Link Between Disorder and Genius. In the book, Dr. Saltz profiles famous geniuses diagnosed with brain differences including ADHD, autism, bipolar disorder and more, and she presents the evidence that such conditions are often tied to hard-wired strengths.

Dr. Kogan is a Harvard-trained psychiatrist and Juilliard-trained concert pianist renowned for concert-lectures exploring the influence of mental illness and other psychological factors on the creative output of composers such as Mozart, Beethoven and Rachmaninoff. In this presentation, Dr. Kogan focuses on how Frédéric Chopin responded to extreme psychological challenges by constructively applying his musical genius.
