A contemporary artist from Kha’p’o Owingeh (also known as Santa Clara Pueblo, in New Mexico), she is among the most significant and influential clay artists of her generation.

Across five decades of artistic practice, Folwell has revolutionized contemporary Pueblo pottery with energetic, avant-garde innovations of form, content, and design that have influenced younger generations of Pueblo potters. The exhibition presents iconic works that demonstrate the arc of Folwell’s trailblazing career and place her within the canon of contemporary American art.
